Intesa Sanpaolo: first Italian bank in IRENA's Climate Investment Platform

Intesa Sanpaolo is the first Italian bank to join the Climate Investment Platform (CIP) *, which brings together public and private financial institutions to support the implementation of renewable energy projects around the world.

Intesa Sanpaolo shares with the platform (CIP), with the participating countries and entities, the experience gained at an international level in financing for the construction of large plants for the production of clean energy, in addition to its network of relationships in the major markets of capital and assistance needed to make projects that meet the highest ESG criteria bankable.

Thanks to this collaboration, Intesa Sanpaolo will be able to expand its interventions in support of the transition to clean energy in numerous rapidly growing countries, especially in Africa.

* The CIP platform was born from the partnership between the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the United Nations Development Program, the Sustainable Energy forAll organization and the Green Climate Fund
