Intesa Sanpaolo and the Università di Bergamo for Start Cup 2023

Intesa Sanpaolo supports Start Cup Bergamo, the initiative of the Università degli Studi di Bergamo designed to introduce students to entrepreneurial culture and the development of highly innovative business ideas.

As part of the collaboration with the Università di Bergamo, Intesa Sanpaolo has renewed its support for the second edition of Start Cup Bergamo, the project which intends to connect academic training with entrepreneurship to provide support to students interested in starting a business . A challenging contest that transforms students into startuppers committed to imagining and designing "business ideas".

The Start Cup Bergamo 2023 project

The Start Cup Bergamo 2023 project is divided into two consecutive phases: Start Cup School and Start Cup Competition. In the first phase, participants explore the paths of conception, development and consolidation of business ideas. In the second phase they enhance the ideas by connecting them with the technical knowledge and models learned from experience in companies and within the economic and social fabric. This phase ends with the drafting of a business plan and with the final event in which the best ideas will be evaluated and rewarded by a jury.

Stimulating the entrepreneurial spirit, the contribution of Intesa Sanpaolo

Entrepreneurship is the individual ability to translate ideas into action.
Introducing students to entrepreneurship is a support that the community must offer to give them the opportunity to acquire a culture of work and as well as promote creativity and innovation. The academy-business interaction is an efficient way to provide students with this support. In fact, the skilful interweaving of academic knowledge and corporate expertise transforms the knowledge acquired into practice and manages to develop adaptability and a proactive spirit among students, two essential variables for dealing with the constantly changing job market.
For the Start Cup Bergamo project, the collaboration between Intesa Sanpaolo and the Università di Bergamo focuses on the design and implementation of activities integrated with university courses that lead students in the exploration of the pillars and fundamental steps that generate entrepreneurial mentalities and behaviors . With interventions, testimonies and case studies, the colleagues of the Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center offered the young students stimuli and ideas to lead them to reflect on their propensity for entrepreneurship and their proactive spirit.
The activity included a company visit to our skyscraper in Turin, held last September 19th. For the students, the visit to the spaces dedicated to the Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center was an opportunity to closely observe real laboratory experiences and work situations based on innovation, as well as to discuss and explore the topic of financing and the tools useful for the growth of start-ups . Some students also had the opportunity to present their start up pitch.

Promoting youth entrepreneurship means facilitating the creation of new businesses and new jobs.
Entrepreneurship is one of the levers that Intesa Sanpaolo intends to use to help young people increase the knowledge and skills necessary to undertake satisfying and successful professional and life paths.
