Material issues and correlation with the key ESG topics of the 2022-2025 Business Plan

We are aware that the constantly evolving social and economic context and the ever-increasing awareness of consumers require every company to be able to cope with new dynamic scenarios. For this reason, we believe that is necessary a structured approach to stakeholder engagement in order to guide the corporate strategy on issues potentially relevant to the Intesa Sanpaolo Group and its stakeholders.

The material issues are identify through a well-structured process that involves:

  • stakeholder mapping of Intesa Sanpaolo Group;
  • mapping of the current and potential, positive and negative impacts on the economy, the environment, and people, including human rights, generated and suffered by the Group’s activities based on national/international documentation analyses in the ESG regulatory context; furthermore, commitments, projects, and activities carried out by Intesa Sanpaolo in the ESG area were taken into  consideration, including strategic projects and the 2022-2025 Business Plan as well as specific initiatives and policies in the ESG area
  • prioritisation of potentially significant impact areas for the Intesa Sanpaolo Group and its stakeholders based on the involvement of Intesa Sanpaolo’s Sustainability Managers, key contacts for ESG issues identified for each Division and Governance Area, and the Group’s stakeholders and on analyses of benchmarks, national/international documentation, and strategic priorities defined in the 2022-2025 Business Plan.
