SUSTAINABILITY
We build together our future
We want to build a future fostering sustainable development in favour of the environment, the younger generations and a truly inclusive society.
This is the essence of our sustainability.
Our sustainability commitment - Paola Angeletti - Chief Sustainability Officer
As a large Banking Group we are aware of a significant impact on the social and environmental context in which we carry out our business creation by choosing to act not only on the basis of profit, but with the objective of long-term profit for the Bank and for the community, aware that they can contribute to reducing the impacts of such as climate change and social inequalities.
From this awareness comes the adhesion to an important international initiative, such as the United Nations Global Compact and the Equator Principles. The Intesa Sanpaolo Group is one of the few European financial groups that have adhered to all the main United Nations sustainability initiatives regarding the financial sector, which are part of the achievement of the Sustainable Development objectives (Sustainable Development goals of the United Nations). In addition, in 2021 we joined all Net-Zero alliances related to the financial sector.
We want to play a central role in promoting the sustainable transition of the territories in which we operate.
This is why we have made sustainability a strategic choice, which takes the form of measurable projects and actions and is supported by solid governance and continuous attention to stakeholders.
