The "Gusti Giusti" (Right Tastes) project , launched in 2008, was carried out in collaboration with Slow Food and the CTO Maria Adelaide of Turin with the aim of spreading a culture among staff about proper nutrition as a factor in promoting health and safeguarding flavour in order to allow informed food choices.
During its experimental phase, the project offered an education programme on nutrition for Intesa Sanpaolo employees using the corporate canteens in MI-Lorenteggio and Moncalieri (Turin), aiming at favouring proper nutrition, starting from the meals eaten in the canteen.
Gusti Giusti is now a reality in all the Group's canteens: MI-Piazzetta G. Dell’Amore, MI-Via Montebello, MI-Via Bisceglie, Assago (MI), Moncalieri (TO), Torri di Quartesolo (VI), Sarmeola di Rubano (PD), Parma, FI-Via Carlo Magno, Pesaro. In 2015 a staff canteen was opened in the New Executive Center in Turin.
Having reached the seventh year of activity, in the year of the Universal Expo Milano 2015 "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life", which has food and nutrition as its main themes, the Bank launched a new action to reaffirm the project principles as an important welfare initiative aimed at promoting its employees' welfare in keeping with the health campaign dedicated to cardiovascular risks, carried out in 2015.
In particular, also as a result of a questionnaire sent to potential users of corporate canteens:
training courses for the cooks were held in MI-Montebello, MI-Piazzetta Dell’Amore, Turin and Moncalieri (Turin), in cooperation with Slow Food experts, to develop new menu offers, in line with the principles of the Gusti Giusti Project
the experience of Laboratori del Gusto (Taste Workshops) continued, in partnership with the Associazione Lavoratori di Intesa Sanpaolo. Four events dedicated to nutrition took place in Milan, Turin, Moncalieri (Turin) and Parma. Within corporate canteens, Slow Food experts explained to an audience of colleagues the characteristics of proper nutrition and showed the participants how to discover the organoleptic properties and the methods of choosing, cutting, processing and cooking vegetables.
Part of the Gusti Giusti project and of the internal initiatives related to Expo Milano 2015, in October the project "Taste the World" was launched in one of the corporate canteens in Milan. The project aims at enhancing the multiculturalism of the Group, by offering the colleagues traditional dishes of the countries where the Intesa Sanpaolo Group is present through its International Subsidiary Banks (Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Egypt, Hungary, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia). All the dishes have been proposed by employees coming from the International Subsidiaries who work in Italy. "Taste the World" was launched in October 2015 in MI-Piazzetta Dell’Amore and continued until June 2016 with 10 dedicated days.
