Cooperation with international organisms for sustainability
Eurizon Capital cooperates with various international entities for the development of sustainability guidelines and their application to the finance sector.
Global Legislator Organisation for a Balanced Environment In 2010 Intesa Sanpaolo took part in setting up the BEE GROUP (Business Economy Environment) within GLOBE EU, the forum participated by members of the European Parliament where politicians meet leaders from various business sectors to develop proposals on international cooperation for the environment.
United Nations Environment Programme Intesa Sanpaolo Group is a signatory of the UNEP FI (United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative) and, through Eurizon Capital, it is an active member since 2002. Member of the Asset Management Working Group since inception, former Treasurer of the Steering Committee, is now co-Chair of the European Task Force, member of the Investment Commission and of the Climate Change Advisory Group.
Intesa Sanpaolo chaired the 2012 Annual General Meeting in Geneva and in November 2013 attended the Global Roundtable in Beijing as a speaker in a panel with Achim Steiner, Under-Secretary General of the United Nations, also the UNEP Executive Director. In the last ten years Intesa Sanpaolo represented UNEP FI at international events and conferences on ESG integration and Climate Change (e.g. Tokyo, New York, Melbourne).
In 2016, Intesa Sanpaolo through Eurizon Capital has attended, among others, at the conference organized by BSI Gamma Foundation in Lugano on the consequences of the Paris agreement on climate change with Profs. Carlo Carraro and Luca Mercalli.

World Business Council for Sustainable Development The mission of WBCSD, in which the managing directors of approximately 200 of the world’s biggest companies take part, is to act as a catalyst to allow every type of business to develop in a sustainable manner, supporting innovation and responsible growth.
UNEP FI and WBCSD collaborate so that the world of business and that of finance draw closer within a context of sustainable development, by organizing work groups in various geographical areas, so that a document may be drawn up that makes evident the stepping stones towards sustainability. Intesa Sanpaolo, through Eurizon Capital, also takes part in this project with the paper "Translating ESG into sustainable value" (PDF - 839 Kb).
CDP The CDP is an independent not-for-profit organization holding and managing the largest database of primary corporate climate change information in the world. In 2012, the Sustainability Committee of Eurizon Capital has sponsored and co-authored a CDP publication, first of its kind, released on July 2013: "Metals & Mining: a sector under water pressure" (PDF - 799 Kb), an analysis for institutional investors of critical issues facing the industry.
In October 2015 Eurizon took part in the Tokyo Global Forum on Water, organized by the CDP and the Japanese Ministry of Environment to share the data published in the last CDP report about water and the strategies and initiatives that, globally, companies are putting in place to respond to this increasingly important issue. In a panel discussion the Intesa Sanpaolo and Eurizon Capital commitment was presented.
EFAMA In September 2015, Eurizon Capital entered the Responsible Investment Working Group of the European fund and asset management association. In October 2016, EFAMA has presented the European asset management industry’s role and involvement in Responsible Investment (Report on responsible investment - PDF 658 Kb). This paper details country-by-country descriptions of the legal framework and various private initiatives in relation to responsible investment in different Member States. EFAMA is the representative association for the European investment management industry. It represents through its 28 member associations and 62 corporate members 21 trillion euro in asset under management.
Eurosif Transparency Guidelines Eurizon Capital SGR has adhered to the Eurosif Transparency Guidelines, a pan-European non-profit entity with the aim of encouraging and developing socially responsible investment practices and improved models of corporate governance.
Eurizon Capital, by adhering to the guidelines, commits itself to providing accurate, adequate and timely information so that the interested parties, and in particular clients, can understand the policies and processes used for socially responsible investments. In this way Eurizon Capital joins other prestigious international asset management companies in using high standards of communication towards their subscribers; furthermore it confirms its wish to represent a solid point of reference for socially responsible investments in Italy.
