  • THE 2007 RIMINI MEETING

    The Rimini Meeting, with its 700,000 visitors each year, represents a coordinated effort by more than 2,000 volunteers and is one of the most highly attended events in Italy. It features an intensive programme of meetings, performances, and exhibitions, with the participation of representatives from the areas of culture, entertainment, politics, and research.
    "Truth is the destiny for which we were made" was the title of the 2007 event.
    Intesa Sanpaolo again supported the 2007 event as general sponsor, continuing a longstanding association and participating actively in this exchange of ethical and social values. The bank had its exhibition space in Pavilion C1 (in the Compagnia delle Opere area).
    On Monday, 20 August, Corrado Passera, CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo addressed the meeting on "The role of competition in the national economy", organized in collaboration with Unioncamere (11:15 a.m., Neri room).
    Intesa Sanpaolo was also present with the childcare programme PAN (Progetto Asili Nido), at the "Baby Club" organized by Consorzio Service Web. PAN is the first nationwide network of childcare services created by a non-profit consortium - Intesa Sanpaolo, Consorzio Cgm, Federazione dell'Impresa Sociale/Compagnia delle Opere, and Drom/Legacoop. Its aim is to support social enterprises offering childcare services.

  • AZALEA DAY: Intesa Sanpaolo and AIRC together in Support of Cancer Research
    13 May 2007, in 3,000 Italian squares

    Intesa Sanpaolo once again worked alongside the Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC) by supporting the "Azalea Day": last Mother's Day, 13 May, azaleas were sold in 3,000 Italian squares to raise money for cancer research.
    As a partner to the association, the bank shares the values and goals of the AIRC and confirmed its commitment to research by continuing to support the development of New Research Units - a project of great scientific value that invests in talented young Italian scientists in order to guarantee the future of research in Italy.
    The information campaign included placing promotional materials (leaflets and postcards) in our bank branches, and allocating a special section on our website.

  • The conference "Antonello Gerbi, Between the Old World and the New"

    Antonello Gerbi (1904-1976) was Head of Research at Banca Commerciale Italiana from 1932 to 1938, and from 1948 to 1970. His relatives have recently donated his personal correspondence to the historical archives of Banca Intesa.
    The conference was organized by Intesa Sanpaolo and by the Università degli Studi di Milano, with the intention of reflecting, in particular, on Gerbi' contribution to North and South American history studies.
